“ Can not say anything but amazing things for this perfect little spot! Customer service is amazing! Food is fresh! Reasonable! Tasty and always hits the spot. Love love love that they give you a little hot cup of the broth of the Caldo de Maricos. The tostadas they serve and the 2 different types of salsas/ cremas - TO DIE FOR!! Never thought I'd find seafood so fresh here in San Antonio. They have a huge menu from ceviches to tacos to seafood pastas and homemade desserts and caldos. Take a break and stop by!! ”
“ There are not enough words to describe this gem. We've come for years, but I waited till I tried most of the menu. Heck the menu is literally on the table when you walk in. Everything has been good to amazing. This trip, we had some items that I wanted to try, and the fam had others. We came after church. Let me start by not understanding why this place isn't packed or have a wait. The level of execution on their plates is that of a high end restaurant. It blows any Mexican seafood, and traditional seafood restaurants away. They bring you tostadas and crackers with two amazing cream sauces. The kids love them! We had the Azteca and Chilacon tacos to start along with the de la casa burrito. They brought us homemade corn tortillas with our tacos. Didn't ask us, and they were perfect! I don't remember ever having a flour tortilla or if they even serve them. I will say it again, a well made corn tortilla will taste better than a flour one any day! The chilacon was one of the best tacos I've had in town. The azteca was no slouch either. They were both beautifully plated as well! The burrito was also great! My son the rice freak, had to have the arroz salseado. We all try each others food and it was as tasty as it looked! The parents(us) had pasta de camarones, and Sopa de Mariscos! Both were fantastic. The pasta belongs in a gourmet restaurant. I can go on and on about this place, then it wouldn't be a review but a novel. No place is perfect. There are a few negatives. The burrito has a strange Mediterranean taste to it. We couldn't figure it out. It seemed out of place, and can see some not liking the flavor profile, but we loved it! Also, the service(waitresses) isn't always that great and inconsistent. They tend to get in the weeds quickly which is a little confusing since we have never been in there when it was packed. The prices are great! Bravo to the real star of the place, the cook(s) who are back there obviously care about the food! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! ”
“ It was 1pm before I figured out what I wanted to have for lunch - oysters and fish tacos. Yelp recommended this spot so off I went. The parking is small and I accidentally drove past the restaurant. If you're coming down culebra, it's shortly after you pass by he Gold's Gym. Golds is on the left and the restaurant is on the right. There are some tables with benches and a playground outside. I ordered oysters to eat there and then placed a to go order of the large ceviche and fish taco plate. Husband asked for a chicken quesadilla but they only have seafood, so I ordered two shrimp quesadillas. Turns out they were out of oysters so I threw an audible and asked for the ceviche to eat there while I waited on my to go order. While I'm super sad I didn't get to address my oyster craving, the ceviche was great! I asked for shrimp ceviche, but I think she heard mixed. Nonetheless, it was delicious and tasted super fresh! I had to stop myself from eating it all lol. The large cucumbers with tajin were a nice touch too. Fish taco plate - so I love fish tacos. This was OK. Fish could stand to have some salt or other seasonings. And I was kinda thinking plate meant that there would be more than just the tacos. Shrimp quesadilla - when I brought this home, it was wrapped like it was a burrito. So that threw me off. But the flavors were good. Husband enjoyed them. When boxing up my leftover ceviche to go, I kept eyeballing the dessert. So I picked up a super moist looking slice of tres leches. So good! In addition to some of the above issues, I knocked off a star because I asked for water to drink and never received it. Maybe next time, I'll call ahead to see if they have oysters before making the trek there. ”
“ Just moved to this side of town and did not know what to expect having eaten mariscos in Mexico. With that being said, the ceviche was excellent and the sopa de mariscos was as fresh as can be. Beer served very cold as it should be. I love that they start you with a taste of their caldito. Definitely worth the wait as there were people waiting to be seated outside. Will definitely return soon. Highly recommend! ”
“ Last Sunday, Robyn of Ma's Ranch and Rescue had invited us to the Easter Bunny Bash at the Culebra Creek Park on the west side of town. I found @mariscosdelpuerto1 not too far from the park on Culebra and we headed there for lunch before the event. The place was very intimate and definitely full of customers. Dad and I had the Limonada Agua Frescas, and Hubby had Topo Chico. There was so much on the menu to choose from. We decided to try the Ceviche Pescado (fish), Caldo de Maricos (seafood), Mini Capitan, half dozen Ostiones (oysters), and 3/3/3 fish, shrimp and fried oysters with fries. So much fresh and good food. Paola was our server and she was very busy with the crowd. Glad we ordered medium-sized dishes as the portions were generous. If you're ever on the west side of town, check them out. ”
